From Sunday November 17th
I’ve been hearing from so many people this week about feelings of anxiety, grief, and rage.
All of these are perfectly legit feelings, but it’s not useful when they get stuck and feel permanently lodged in our bodies.
I can’t fix the world at large, but I can create a container for us to digest and work through the major emotions that come with existing as a caring and feeling human.
We’ll spend 45min moving, shaking, dancing, stomping, throwing, fighting, raging, falling, protecting, baring our teeth, throwing the equivalent of a grown up temper tantrum, releasing, rising, and standing in our power.Â
Then we’ll spend a little time in rest and meditation, before we end our hour with witnessing and sharing.
We’ll get to feel it all AND allow it all to move through us.
We’ll get to fall to the floor AND get back up again.
We’ll get to look within AND connect with each other.
We’ll get to fight AND be held.Â
We’ll get to grieve AND find joy.Â
We’ll move to increase our capacity to hold and release it all - and be able to do it over and over again without it taking us down - without ignoring it - but working with it and in it.Â
These nervous system and somatic tools are deeply valuable on these occasions when we get to be in community, but are also tools you can continue to use on your own to create a more consistent practice of moving through it all when you need it most.Â
It is my hope that we can all find the medicine we need to help us remember our freedom and our power.
Invite anyone and everyone who could use a bit of this at the moment.
