What is Qoya?
Qoya is based on the simple idea that through movement, we remember our essence.
We remember our essence is wise, wild and free.
Wise, wild and free also draw reference to the movement forms that we do in a class.
WISE for the wisdom of tradition practices that integrate breath and movement;
WILD, the authentic expression of dance;
FREE, expanding our capacity to enjoy being in our bodies through pleasurable movement.
An important aspect of Qoya is that there’s no way you can do it wrong, and the way you know you’re doing it right is that it feels right in your body.
In many ways, Qoya is a path of self initiation and a practice of inner validation.
